武学武学Wuxue; military academyWUXlle武学(确xue:milit脚aeade卿)宋代创立的教习兵书、武艺的军官学校。北宋仁宗庆历三年(1043),下诏建武学,不久即罢。神宗熙宁五年(1072),在东京(今河南开封)重建武学,生员以百人为额。徽宗崇宁至宣和年间,诸州州学增置武学斋舍,生员增多。南宋高宗绍兴十六年(1146),在临安府(今杭州)复置武学。宁宗庆元五年(1199),复置各州州学武士斋舍,教习武艺。武学生员主要学习诸家兵法、历代战例及步骑射。其所学兵法,最初规定为《孙子》、《吴子》、《六韬》。元丰三年(1080)四月,神宗命武学博士何去非等校定《孙子》、《吴子》、《司马法》、《尉缭子》、《六韬》、《三略》和《唐太宗李卫公问对》,辑为《武经七书》,蘸汁京宣德楼前演象图作为武学主要教材。选派通晓军事的文武官员任教授,后改设博士和学谕。生员来自未授差遣的使臣和荫补子弟及平民,皆由京官保荐。除武臣路分都监和文官转运判官以上可各奏举一人免试人学外,其余皆验试人材和弓马。合格者方准人学。仿太学制,实行三舍法,分上舍、内舍、外舍三级。初人学补外舍,每年一试,成绩优等者升上舍,以30人为额;成绩中等者补内舍;武艺、策略累居下等者,复降外舍。在学三年,上舍生经公试,成绩俱优为上等,可直接授官;成绩一优一平为中等,可免礼部试(省试),直接参加殿试;成绩俱平或一优一否为下等,可免解试(乡试,嘈试),直接参加省试;未及格者逾年再试。成绩合格,原为三班使臣者授三路巡检或监押、寨主;原无官者授经略司或安抚司的教押军队、准备差使。三年无过失者,升亲民官或巡检;升至大使臣者(正八品武阶官),有两省待制或本路铃辖以上三人保举胜任将领的,兼诸卫将军,外任回,任环卫官(诸卫上将军、大将军、将军,四品以上);后来多授掌管榷酩等监档官(九品官)。武学生多安置散官,表明武学并非武将升迁捷径。至孝宗隆兴以后,才量其材品和考任,授予军职,使之守边屯戍,谙练军政。明建文四年(1402),建京卫武学。永乐中罢。正统六年(1441)复设,后置各卫武学。崇祯十年(1 637),令各府州县皆设武学。生员为各卫年轻武官、应继承武官禄位的子弟及武生。设教授和训导掌教。学习内容除军事科目外,与儒学相类。武学的设置,开创了以学校培养武臣子弟和青年军官的先河。以《武经七书》为教科书,对继承和发展中国古代兵学思想起了重要作用,对后世培养、选拔武将也有较大影响。(张廷荣)
