1.表达不开心或烦恼，不止unhappy或upset
Im really bummedthat I have to get up so early! Im also bummed out that Dr. Johnson is teaching this class.
中文意思：起那么早我非常不高兴，Johnson博士教这门课也让我很烦恼。
Bum：通常指无家可归的人;
这里bummed 和bummed out 都可以用来表达unhappy或者upset，不高兴，感到烦恼。
例如：if I got turned down for a date, Id be bummed. 如果女同学拒绝我的邀请，我会更不高兴。
2. 放松一下，不止have a rest
The class is over! Im ready to chillfor the rest of the morning. I haven had a chance to chill out these last few days, getting ready for school and all.
Chill在这里表示的是休息、放松的意思，而不是"发冷"；chill out 也是指relax。
所以这句话的意思是：上完课了，我打算上午放松一下。过去几天为了准备开学都没有机会休息。
例：have fun chilling tonight at your friends. 你今天在朋友家一定会玩得很开心。
3. 离开，还有ditch
It is too noisy. I can think. Lets ditchthis place.
Ditch 本意为丢弃，在地上挖的沟，在句中显然是翻译不通的。
这句话的意思是：这里太吵了，我没办法思考，我们还是离开这个地方吧！
a.To ditch means to quickly leave a place you never want to stay. Ditch 就是指离开你再也不想呆的地方；
b. if you want to get away from someone, "Lets ditch him" which means to leave someone behind.如果你想离开某个人，Lets ditch him的意思就是我们把他丢下或者我们走吧，不管他。
例：we ditch Mary after finishing the work. 我们工作完成后没和Mary打招呼就走了。
4. 满足需要，hit the spot
A burger would hit the spot. Lets go. I am so hungry.
我现在很饿，一个汉堡就能满足我需要，走吧。
Hit the spot means satisfy ones need. Hit the spot 的意思是满足需要。
例：Im sleepy now. Coffee really hit the pot. 我现在很困，咖啡正是我需要的。
