人文科学试验班人文学科也称人文科学，通常包括语言、文学、历史、哲学等学科，是高等学校基础学科的组成部分和素质教育的重要内容。它与各个应用性、交叉性学科间有着紧密的联系，并对其发展起着重要作用。一些高校为适应现代科学向交叉学科和边缘学科发展以及社会对宽口径、复合型人才的需要，培养基本理论和基础知识扎实，融汇古今，贯通中外，富于“三创”精神和进取意识，具有较强的独立研究、分析问题和解决问题的能力，外语、计算机运用和文字表达能力较好的高级专门人才而开设的试验班。最早在武汉大学设立，现在清华大学、北京大学、中国人民大学、浙江大学、吉林大学、郑州大学等高校均有人文科学试验班。该班培养具有深厚文、史、哲理论基础和科学素养，又有较高的外语水平，能适应多学科日益渗透发展趋势的人文学科科学研究和教学方面的高级人才。下面以部分高校为例说明人文科学试验班的具体情况：清华大学的人文社会科学学院统一按照人文科学试验班和社会科学试验班招生，人文科学试验班前两年强调经典著作的研习，大三以后再按照双向选择的原则分流到汉语言文学、历史、哲学三个专业培养。社会科学试验班强调研究方法的训练，大三以后再分流到国际关系、经济学和社会学三个专业进行培养。清华大学人文科学试验班为清华大学人文社会科学学院下设专业。武汉大学人文科学试验班主要专业课程有：人文科学概论、人文科学研究方法论、人文科学名著导读、马克思主义哲学原理、马克思主义哲学史、中华人民共和国史、中国文学史、中国通史、中国哲学史、外国文学史、世界通史、西方哲学史、自然辩证法基础、古代汉语、现代汉语、写作、史学史、中国现当代文学等。优秀毕业生可被推荐免试攻读硕士研究生或硕博连读。其他毕业生可在高等院校、科研院所、党政机关、外事机构及出版、报刊、杂志、电台、电视台等部门、大型公司企业等单位从事教学、科研、策划、宣传、采编、文秘等工作。武汉大学人文科学试验班为武汉大学文学院下设专业。郑州大学人文科学试验班培养方案：学制四年，实行“2+2制”。第一阶段（两年时间），学生不分专业，统一学习文、史、哲等基础课程，选修一定的计算机、经济、法律、艺术等课程。第二阶段（两年时间），依据学生特长与兴趣，以及学科发展需要，分历史学、哲学、汉语言文学等专业，学习专业课和部分应用性文科课程。修业年限：学制四年；根据第二阶段所学专业方向授予相应的学士学位。郑州大学人文科学试验班为郑州大学历史学院下设专业。
