管理工程：工程心理学 以人-机-环境系统为对象﹐研究系统中人的行为及其与机器和环境相互作用的特点的工业心理学分支。它的目的是使工程技术设计与人的身心特点相匹配﹐从而提高系统效率﹑保障人机安全﹑并使人在系统中能够有效而舒适地工作。 人-机-环境系统是多学科研究的问题。从事这方面工作的有心理学家﹑生理学家﹑人体测量学家﹑医生﹑工程师等。在不同的国家或来自不同学科的专家往往使用不同的名称。中国﹑美国和苏联等的心理学界多称“工程心理学”﹐美国还使用“人类工程学”﹑“人的因素工程学”等名称﹔西欧各国则普遍称“工效学”。中国国家标準局於1982年命名为“人类工效学”。来自不同学科的专家在研究内容上各有侧重﹕工程心理学家强调研究系统中人的行为和身心功能特点﹐为系统设计提供有关人的数据﹔而工效学家或人的因素工程学家则侧重於研究把有关人的数据应用於系统设计。 简史 工程心理学兴起於20世纪40年代后期﹐但关於人机关係的研究可以追溯到19世纪末F.W.泰勒关於铁铲形式与操作效率关係的试验。20世纪初﹐实验心理学家H.閔斯特伯格致力於心理学在工业中的应用。使人适应机器的要求﹐是40年代以前人机关係研究的基本特点。工程师设计机器往往只著眼於机械力学性能的改进﹐很少考虑使用者的要求﹔心理学家的工作也局限於为现成的机器选拔和训练操作人员﹐在第二次世界大战期间﹐由於武器性能和复杂性大大提高﹐即使经过选拔和训练的操作人员也很难适应﹐由此发生了许多机毁人亡或误击目标事故。这便迫使人们去重新审查装备的设计﹐并促使人们认识到机器和操作者是一个整体﹐武器只有与使用者的身心特点匹配时才能安全而有效地发挥作用。由这种认识出发﹐又提出了人机系统的概念。这样﹐人们开始了从主要研究由人适应机器转向研究使机器适应人的阶段﹐由此而形成了工程心理学这门学科。1949年出版的A.查普尼斯的《应用实验心理学》是这个时期经典性的工程心理学著作﹐40年代和50年代初期﹐工程心理学家主要研究指针式仪錶和开关按钮设计中的人机匹配问题﹐因此有人把这一时期称为工程心理学发展中的“开关和錶盘”时代。50年代以后﹐由於控制论和信息论的影响﹐工程心理学採用信息接收﹑传输﹑加工﹑反馈﹑信道容量﹑系统控制等概念分析人和机器的相互作用过程﹐使人机系统的概念得到进一步发展。同时﹐由於计算机的广泛应用和生產过程自动化程度的提高﹐使人机结合方式和人在系统中的地位与作用发生了深刻变化。例如﹐在系统中人由操作者转变为监控者﹐体力负荷降低﹑心理负荷增大﹔人机间的信息交换方式由机械式转为对话式等。认知因素是现代人机系统的核心问题﹐认知实验心理学成为现代工程心理学的理论基础。这种种变化给工程心理学提出了研究的新方向和课题。
