标准电压源标准的直流或交流电压发生器。与一般的稳压电源比，标准电压源需有长期的输出电压准确度指标。标准电压源分为直流和交流两种。①直流标准电压源：对外部负载输出标准的稳定直流电压,其原理如图1。图中RL是外部负载，U0是输出的标准直流电压，Ui是基准电压，Ri和Rf是反馈电阻链，A是放大器,E 是功率管BG的工作电源。当开关K置于V，且 A的增益很大时，则此时对外输出直流标准电压。②交流标准电压源：对外部负载输出标准的稳定交流电压,其原理如图2所示。图中振荡器输出的标准正弦波电压经过可调分压器RPA（其调节盘与分压器RPB调节盘联动）送往可控衰减器，经过由放大器放大，最后在升压变压器的次级输出标准的交流电压（开关K在V位置）。图1或图2的标准电压源也可以按标准电流源的方式工作，此时，它们分别是标准的直流或交流电流发生器。图1中开关 K在mA位置时，I0是输出的标准直流电流。图2中开关K在A位置时,I0是输出的标准交流电流。标准电压源主要用于校验模似式和数字式直流或交流电压表。与此类似，标准电流源主要用于校验直流或交流电流表。而将标准电压源和标准电流源组合在一起，可构成标准功率源，用以校验功率表和电能表。标准电压源、电流源等统称为标准源。标准源是在20世纪50年代后期开始发展的,当时误差约为0.5％。由于电子元器件和微计算机技术的迅速发展，70年代已出现误差小于0.0003％的智能化可程控和自校准的标准电压源、电流源。标准源的主要技术指标见表。
