窦大夫祠景区在汾河东岸的兰村西，烈石山下。主景点是窦大夫祠，又名烈石神祠。窦大夫，字鸣犊，春秋时晋国大夫，曾做过开渠利民的事，后被赶简子所杀。祠重建于元至正三年（1343），有50多间殿堂。其中琉璃团龙山门、方形藻井式献亭、五间悬山式正殿都是元代遗物 ，部分保留宋金风格 。殿内供大夫像，美髯长须，风度翩翩。左有梧桐木，俗传手摸可除百病，现仍光滑溜圆，光可鉴人。祠亦有八景之说，“神龛梧桐”为八景之一。祠左有明代的保宁寺和近代的赵戴文公馆。赵戴文（1867——1943），五台人，同盟会员，曾任国民党政府山西省主席、国民党山西省党部主任委员，晚年信佛。公馆为三重院建筑，存过厅、正厅、偏院等40余间房屋，后部辟有花园，园中有赵戴文墓。以上的祠、寺、馆一气呵成，互相贯通，东西宽近200米，参观面积达万余平方米。祠右侧又有“烈石寒泉”，亦为旧阳曲八景之一。地下水喷涌而出，汇而成潭，“汾水得烈石泉，势始汹涌”，可见流量很大，且夏冷冬温，有诗曰“人在冰壶六月寒”，故名寒泉。泉边有小庙，刻“灵泉”两字，是宋崇宁元年（1102）九月宋徽宗赵佶御书。寒泉在文革中遭破坏，拟引汾水予以恢复。祠前可观赏烈石口汾水的旖旎风光。祠后的二龙山，百花争艳，拟辟成山顶公园。祠紧靠上兰镇，市场繁荣，具有发展旅游“六要素”的优越条件，可以成为这片旅游区的中心。
