因为out这个词太常见了，好用的词组很多，那就接着之前的内容，再来学习几个有意思的词组吧！
1）Out to lunch
Out to lunch从字面看是“出去吃午饭”，确实你可以这么认为，比如说：Adam is out to lunch right now，so I leave him a message.（亚当现在出去吃午饭了，所以我给他留了个言）。
但是，out to lunch在口语中，还可以指由于你疏忽大意，心不在焉，做了一些比较愚蠢的行为。因此，out to lunch可以是指愚蠢的，犯蠢的意思。
所以，有时候，当别人说Are you out to lunch不是在问你“出去吃午饭吗”，而是在骂你！
英语例句看一看：
① Did you just say that two plus three equals six？Wow，you are really out to lunch today.
你刚刚说二加三等于六吗？哇，你今天可真够蠢的！
② Adam has been a little out to lunch lately，don you think？
亚当最近有点蠢呐，你难道不觉得吗？
2）Out of the blue
Out of blue从字面上看是“在蓝色外面”，其实它来源于“蓝色的天空突然间出现一道闪电（a bolt of lightning from a blue sky）”，因此有时也写做out of a clear blue sky，指出乎意料地，突然地，犹如晴天霹雳一样的，相当于是suddenly或是all of a sudden。
英语例句瞄一瞄：
① The news must have come out of the blue because she seemed so surprised.
这个新闻肯定来得很突然，因为她看起来非常地吃惊。
② The notice of Adam’s resignation came out of the blue.
亚当的辞职通知来得很突然。
3）Out of the picture
Picture是图片或照片，从字面上看，out of the picture好像是“在照片外面”了。不过这个语境中，picture引申为“情景，局面”，那out of the picture意思是某人不在某个局面里了，在局外了。举一反三一下，那in the picture意思就是在局内了。
英语例句瞅一瞅：
① I like studying in the library so that all of the distractions will be out of the picture.
我喜欢在图书馆学习，这样的话，所有令人分心的事情都不会再出现在我面前了。
② Since Adam is out of the picture now，we don’t need to care about his objections.
由于亚当现在已经被排除在局外了，我们就不用再关心他的反对意见了。
